Durant, Seattle open five-game swing at New Orleans
The Seattle SuperSonics open a five-game road trip, as they visit the New Orleans Hornets tonight at New Orleans Arena.
The teams split four games last season. The SuperSonics have dropped four in a row at the Hornets.
Seattle attempts to win a season-best third straight game this evening. Rookie phenom Kevin Durant tied his career high with 35 points as the SuperSonics knocked off the Milwaukee Bucks, 104-98, on Friday at KeyArena.
Kevin Durant was 15-of-16 from the free throw line and grabbed eight rebounds for the SuperSonics, who have won three of their last four games overall and beat Milwaukee at KeyArena for the ninth straight time.
Chris Wilcox had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the win over the Bucks for Seattle, while Earl Watson, Nick Collison and Wally Szczerbiak netted 12 apiece in the victory. Watson also dished out nine assists for the SuperSonics.
The SuperSonics, who have lost three in a row as the visitor, are 2-7 on the road this season. They will also visit Chicago, New York, Minnesota and Utah on the current swing.
The Hornets conclude a four-game homestand. On Friday, Chris Paul sliced through the Grizzlies defense and dropped in a layup with 1.8 seconds left in overtime, giving New Orleans a hard-fought 118-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at New Orleans Arena.
Paul scored a career-high 43 points, making 15-of-27 shots from the field, including 5-of-7 from behind the arc, to lead the Hornets to their third win in their last four games overall. David West scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Tyson Chandler scored 13 and grabbed 19 boards for New Orleans.
New Orleans will visit the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday at the Pepsi Center and the Dallas Mavericks on December 14th at American Airlines Center.
